The highlight for the school each semester is the Sydney Film School Festival. This is the time we get to celebrate the completion of that semester’s productions and the graduation of our Diploma and Advanced Diploma students.
The next Film Festival will be our 25th and will take place over three days, from Tuesday 13th to Thursday 15th December 2016. Once again the Festival will be held at the Chauvel Cinema in Paddington.
The SFS Festival is a great opportunity for past and present students, current and future filmmakers, film loving general public, media and industry leaders to all come together in their shared love of filmmaking.
Experienced industry professionals invited to SFS Film Festivals include: renowned Australian directors Gillian Armstrong, Ray Lawrence, Bruce Beresford, Phillip Noyce, George Miller, Bob Connolly, Philip Hearnshaw, Tom Zubrycki, Gretel Killeen, Wayne Blair, Paul Cox and John Duigan, actors Barry Otto and Matthew Newton, and the former Prime Minister of Australia, Paul Keating, known for his active support of the Arts in Australia.
As part of the closing night proceedings, SFS are always proud to invite a Keynote Speaker to address the audience. The speaker is chosen equally for their ability to inspire passion and for their insight into the realities of Australian film culture. Stay tuned for the announcement of the Keynote Speaker for the 25th film festival.
